Project Overview
Trench Coil Division was busting at the seams! Operating as the world’s largest producer of transformer coils, production was maxed and operations struggled to keep pace with worldwide demand. Trench elected to redefine and retool its operations. As part of this process Trench needed to expand its facilities which it did by relocating part of it operations to an existing 86,000 square foot plant. This included relocating its financial and HR departments to the new facility.
Project Objective
- Provide security and performance for its financial and HR department which relocated to the new facility.
Solutions
- Offices are on the perimeter with glazed partition walls allowing light inside.
- To enhance light migration and openness, stepped partitions were included with filing requirements located in the center of the work station configuration, typical of a financial department.
- Systems and furniture took into account small space and efficiency requirements including lunchrooms, flexible training rooms, various meeting rooms and workstation and office spaces.

- Although an industrial facility, the entrance and adjacent boardroom were designed function as an inviting starting point for international visitors and customers.
- Bridged general office space into plant areas.
