Seating, tables and patient-room furniture for a new rehabilitation and complex-care hospital in Toronto.
West Park Healthcare Centre's new hospital needed furniture across reception, waiting areas, patient rooms and community spaces. In a rehabilitation and complex-care setting, every piece had to be durable and easy to clean while supporting patient dignity and independence, so that residents can perform tasks independently, such as getting in or out of a chair, or joining friends at a dining table while in a wheelchair.
Harkel, working with Global Furniture Group, furnished the new hospital end to end. Willow seating, Global's healthcare release and a Nightingale Gold Award winner for Healthcare Design, features throughout the project, alongside Collingwood, GC Wind and River+ seating, GC Sidero children's seating and Swap tables. The project was designed by CannonDesign and Montgomery Sisam Architects.
