DESIGNING A STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY
The Harkel-Global team took on the ambitious project of transforming the West Park Healthcare Centre into a state-of-the-art facility that prioritizes patient comfort and well-being. From the onset, the team engaged in extensive consultations with the healthcare centre's top management to fully understand their goals and objectives. The primary aim was to create a healthcare space that not only meets the functional needs of a hospital setting but also fosters a warm and patient-centric environment. By closely listening to the client's requirements, Harkel-Global was able to tailor the offerings to perfectly align with the Centre’s vision.
West Park Healthcare Centre is dedicated to helping patients regain their lives by offering specialized rehabilitative and complex care following life-changing illnesses or injuries, including lung disease, amputations, strokes, and severe musculoskeletal injuries.
The Centre recently finished the construction of a new building. This project aimed to enhance its 27-acre site, creating an integrated campus of care. This expansion will allow West Park to advance its rehabilitative programs and better meet the evolving healthcare needs of Ontario in the future.
PRIORITIZING COMFORT & FUNCTIONALITY
In choosing the furniture for West Park Healthcare Centre, the Harkel-Global team prioritized comfort and functionality.
Recognizing that healthcare furniture must withstand rigorous use while providing maximum comfort, durable and easy-to-clean materials were carefully chosen for the furniture. The team focused on ergonomic designs to enhance comfort and aesthetics, ensuring that every piece of furniture in different areas including reception, waiting area, meeting rooms, private rooms and community spaces contributes positively to an inviting and healing environment. The aim was to design a facility that supported patient comfort while ensuring ease of use as well as longevity of the furniture.
Throughout the project, Harkel-Global team maintained a strong line of communication with West Park Healthcare Centre, allowing for continuous feedback and adjustments. This collaborative approach ensured that the outcome not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. The result was a healthcare facility equipped with modern, comfortable, and functional furniture, creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families.
